Here it finally is! My Number One favorite Skrillex track of all time!
Number 1: Cinema (Skrillex Remix)
This will always be one of my favorite Skrillex tracks. I think it is the perfect blend of the softer EDM style with the hard bass of dubstep. I look at it as the stepping-stone for any of those looking to try to understand dubstep and all the greatness it can bring to the EDM scene.
Thanks for checking out my Top Ten Skrillex songs, I hope everyone had a blast at all the sets by Skrillex and other great artists. I’ll see you guys at the next one!

Top 10 Skrillex Tracks: Number 2
Here's number 2 of my Top Ten Skrillex Tracks!
Number 2: Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites
This song gets bonus points for being the track the really blew up Skrillex’s career. I can’t count the number of people I’ve talked to that can point this song out as the track that not only introduced them to Skrillex, but the Dubstep genre in general. Mix that with sampling a hilarious YouTube hit, and you’ve got a Grammy Nominated hit on your hands.
BONUS!
Here’s one of my favorite remixes of a Skrillex song!
This track comes from ca715al1v3 (Cat is Alive). It’s a mashup of Skrillex’s “Kill Everyone (Bare Noize Remix)” and Adele’s “Set Fire to The Rain”, and one of the best that I’ve hear.
Take a listen to “Set Fire To Everyone”
Check out Number 1 tomorrow! What could it be!?

Top 10 Skrillex Tracks: Numbers 4 and 3
We’ve reached the final four in my Top Ten Skrillex tracks!
Number 4: Kyoto (feat. Sirah)
When Skrillex dropped his new EP a few backs, on my first listen through, this song immediately became my favorite on the track. The drop in this song is so sick, I don’t even know how to describe it. You just have to listen to it for yourself and experience the mind melt.
Number 3: Le7els (Skrillex Remix)
I was so amped for this when Skrillex announced he was remixing Avicii’s Le7els. The original mix by Avicii alone is one of my favorite EDM tracks out there. Add in Skrillex to make a dubstep version of Le7els, and its bound to be a hit. Skrillex and Avicii don’t disappoint.
Stay tuned for number 2!

Top 10 Skrillex Tracks: Numbers 6 and 5
Here’s the next batch of my Top Ten Skrillex tracks:
Number 6: Hey Sexy Lady (Skrillex Remix)
Oh, how I love this track. Starting off with funky fresh mix, Skrillex then drops the bass hard to take us forward into experiencing another great hit. The breakdown is absolutely fantastic.
Number 5: Rock N’ Roll (Will Take You To The Mountain)
The first track off of the “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites” EP, I’ve heard this song blow up the club on numerous occasions, and I can’t wait till the next time I hear a DJ drop it. Plus, the ending is priceless if you love EDM!
Four left in the countdown, be sure to check it out tomorrow! On a side note, after just two days of seeing Skrillex live, I've already heard all ten of my favorite tracks multiple times! Lets see what day 3 of Skrillfest has in store for me!

Top 10 Skrillex Tracks: Numbers 8 and 7
Continuing my top ten Skrillex tacks… here’s Number 8!
Number 8: Ruffneck (Full Flex)
I’ll admit, this song hadn’t registered on my radar until I saw the music video for it. It was only released a few weeks ago, but once I heard the song, it quickly moved up in the ranks of my favorite Skrillex songs. Let me just, Santa = Badass. Off of the “More Monsters and Sprites” EP, here’s Ruffneck (Full Flex):
Number 7: Breakin’ a Sweat (feat. The Doors)
Off the Re:Generation documentary, this song blends the great classic rock band, “The Doors,” with the new age sound of Skrillex. Growing up listening to classic rock makes this song especially fantastic for me.
I’m adding the newly released music video for the song, but if you listen to the Original Mix off the Bangarang EP, Skrillex samples a quote from Jim Morrison as he predicts the future of music…
Numbers 6-5 coming tomorrow!

Top 10 Skrillex Tracks: Numbers 10 and 9
So in honor of the upcoming six straight days of Skrillex performances throughout LA, otherwise being referred to as Skrillfest by myself and a few others, I thought I would give my top ten favorite Skrillex tracks. So let's do it!
Number 10: Kill Everyone
Besides the slightly disturbed title and lyrics in this song, “Kill Everyone” has a great drop, breakdown, and over all great sound that can blow up any club you go to.
Number 9: First Of The Year (Equinox)
Keeping in line with the disturbed (I swear I’m not demented or anything), for number nine we have the lead track off of Skrillex’s EP “More Monsters and Sprites.” I first heard the song when I discovered the music video for it. It’s probably one of the strangest videos I’ve seen, but it fits the song perfectly. There’s something definitely wrong with a man who prays of your children, but unfortunately for him, he picked the wrong child…
Numbers 8-7 coming tomorrow!

Review: Steve Aoki's "Wonderland"
I remember the first time I saw Steve Aoki live. I was at IDfest last summer. We had been planning to stay at the inside stage and watch Crystal Method, but ended up wandering outside only to discover the concert experience that is Aoki.
You get used to certain shows when it comes to EDM music, usually consisting of a lot of strobes, neon, and cookie cutter spotlights (and I love all of it). Then you have Steve Aoki with his inflatable rafts, crowd surfing (with and without said raft), champagne showers over the crowd, and even birthday cake being tossed at us (which I think was a special occasion, because if I remember correctly it was Aoki’s birthday at the time).
Mix his show with his music, and I was won over. I had heard of Aoki’s name before, but really only for his collaboration with Afrojack on the song “No Beef.” And then imagine my surprise when during his performance, all of the sudden Rivers Cuomo from Weezer appears on stage and starts jamming out with Aoki. What a great introduction to this artists work.
So, I have to say I’m a little shocked to find out that “Wonderland” is pretty much the first official release for Steve Aoki. Coming out under Dim Mak Records, this record contains 13 (16 if you get the iTunes bonus cuts) electro heavy tracks that feature different guest artists on almost every one.
The record starts with the single “Earthquakey People,” the same song that shocked me with the appearance of Rivers Cuomo live. Follow that with the track “Ladi Dadi” which features Wynter Gordon (who I fell in love with for the remixes of her song “Til Death”) and you’ve already got me hooked on this album.
I will admit, at times the music feels a bit mainstream, which I think comes at part to those same special guests that make some of the tracks so special. I could do without Lil Jon on the track “Emergency” and while I love a good Party Rock, it can be argued that LMFAO’s appearance on the track “Livin’ My Love” is more accountable because of their recent popularity.
I do want to give a quick shout out to the 16bit track “Steve Jobs” featuring Angger Dimas, a tribute to the late, great head of Apple.
Overall, this record excites me. If not necessarily for it’s individual tracks, but for the future of what these tracks could become. One of the bonus cuts “No Beef” has become a staple for many a DJ’s sets, and I can only imagine where most of this record will go into the EDM scene.
Purchase the record and find out for yourself on iTunes.
